What this site collects
Next to nothing. Rented Nook is a plain static site: no accounts, no comment section, no forms. You don't have to hand over any personal details to read it, and we don't set any cookies of our own.
Third-party services
There are a couple of third-party connections worth knowing about:
- Analytics. No analytics or tracking tool is enabled at the moment. If that ever changes, this page will be updated to say which tool is in use and how it's set up.
- Fonts. If any web font is loaded from a third-party service such as Google Fonts, your browser requests it from that provider, which means your IP address is visible to them for that request, handled under their own policy. Where possible, fonts are self-hosted to avoid this.
- Hosting. The web host (or CDN) may keep standard server access logs (IP address, time, the path requested) for security and operations, managed by the host under their own policy.
External and sponsor links
Articles may contain ordinary links to external sites; the footer and the end of each article also carry a clearly labelled "sponsor" link (which goes via a /ref/ page on this site first). Once you click any external link, that site's own privacy policy applies. This site doesn't read or collect any of your data through the sponsor link.
Children
This site is for a general audience, isn't aimed at children, and doesn't collect any user data — so it doesn't collect children's data either.
Changes to this statement
If this page changes, it's updated directly and the revision date at the top is adjusted. Anything significant will be flagged on the homepage.
